Even if it was non-bearing game for the Llamados, B-Meg played well but still fell short as they close the PBA Governors Cup and the PBA 36th Season with a loss to Petron, 97-92. After winning their 1st game in the semifinals against Rain or Shine, B-Meg lost 4 straight games with 3 games by double-digits.

Five players scored in double figures for B-Meg led by James Yap with 23 points and Joe Devance with 18 points. B-Meg import Myron Allen scored 15 points in his farewell performance in the PBA.

Coach Jorge Gallent in his 1st coaching stint in the Philippine Basketball Association had a 20-24 record from 41-23 in Coach Ryan Gregorio’s last season with B-Meg. It was clearly a disappointing season for B-Meg, big changes will surely happen in the off-season.

Alaska defeats B-Meg, 105-86

Alaska stays alive while B-Meg loses its 3rd straight game in the current PBA Governors Cup Semifinals. Alaska Import Jason Forte led the Aces with 42 points and 17 rebounds against only 5 points from B-Meg Import Myron Allen who was benched by Coach Jorge Gallent midway in the third quarter and the fourth quarter.

James Yap and Peter June Simon combined for 43 points but no other Llamados scored in double figures.

The Talk N Text Tropang Texters are a few more wins away from a rare grand slam as they defeated the B-Meg Llamados, 101-89. The Llamados who suffered their second straight loss is now out of the race to the finals with a 5 win and 6 loss record with 2 games left.

TNT import Scottie Reynolds waxed hot with 37 points compared to only 12 points by Myron Allen. James Yap led B-Meg with 18 points followed by Marc Pingris with 15 points and 8 rebounds. B-Meg only shot 23.1% (3/13) from the 3-point range and committed 21 turnovers. Peter June Simon was again held to single digits in scoring with 8 points while Joe Devance only had 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Ginebra defeats B-Meg by 20

Ginebra defeats B-Meg, 99-79

The B-Meg Llamados led by James Yap (11 points in the opening quarter) controlled the 1st quarter but it was downhill from there as they lose by 20 points to the Barangay Ginebra Kings in the PBA Governors Cup Round Robin Semifinals. Mark Caguiao led Ginebra with 33 points.

Ginebra import Donald Sloan (26 points) outplayed B-Meg import Myron Allen who was ineffective for most of the game with only 17 points. Marc Pingris and Joe Devance where the other Llamados in double figures with 13 and 11 points respectively. Peter June Simon was missing from this game with only 4 points and newly acquired Josh Urbiztondo in his 2nd game for B-Meg contributed 5 points.

It was a big win for Ginebra which is now in solo 2nd place and B-Meg now needs to win it’s last three games in the semifinals to force a playoff berth with team in 2nd place.

Rain or Shine led by as much as 17 points in the 3rd quarter but the B-Meg Llamados came back in the 2nd half to start the semifinal round with a big come from behind win, 99-98. 5 players scored in double figures for the Llamados led by James Yap with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

ROS import Arizona Reid won his match with new B-Meg import Myron Allen, with Reid scoring 41 points but missed a crucial jumper at the end of the 4th quarter. Myron Allen scored 18 points while contributing 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in his PBA debut.

Peter June Simon made the game winning basket with 21.7 seconds remaining in the game while Marc Pigris made the defensive stops while controlling the boards with 11 rebounds along with 10 points. Newly acquired Josh Urbiztondo played only 7 minutes and scored 2 points in his B-Meg debut.

Darnell Hinson led B-Meg in the next round by scoring 31 points (10/20 from the field) along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in his farewell game for the Llamados. Hinson will fly back to the US to attend a hearing custody of his daughter and B-Meg has already scouted a replacement just in case Hinson won’t be back for the PBA Governors Cup semifinals.

Joe Devance was named Best Player of the Game with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks in his 8th game for the Llamados. The duo of James Yap and Peter June Simon combined for 27 points while Marc Pingris almost had a double-double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Rafi Reavis in just his 4th game back from an injury grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds and also scored 8 points.

With the win, B-Meg has now 4 wins and superior quotient over Meralco and Powerade, thus completing the 6-team semifinals (Petron, TNT, ROS, Ginebra, Alaska and B-Meg) where there will be a single round robin (games in the elimination round are carried over). If a team wins 4 out of 5 semifinal games, they earn a playoff incentive for a finals berth even if they are below the standings. The top two teams after the semifinals or the winner of the playoff incentive will advance to the best-of-seven finals.
