Derby Ace defeats Smart Gilas in overtime, 98-90

Shamari Spears led Derby Ace in scoring with 26 points in what could be his last game as B-Meg handed Smart Gilas Pilipinas its first loss in the PBA Commissioners Cup, 98-90. Peter June Simon and Marc Pingris both had great games with PJ contributing 20 points and 9 rebounds and Pingris grabbing 19 rebounds and scoring 18 points.

Kerby Raymundo had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds together with 2 assists and 2 steals while Nino “KG” Canaleta who made a crucial 3 pointer in the last 2 minutes of the game scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Mac Baracael led Smart Gilas with 19 points but missed 6-10 Marcus Douthit in the 4th period after sustaining a sprained ankle in the 3rd quarter, which resulted in the 70-49 edge in rebounding by the Llamados.

James Yap, Don Allado, Rico Maierhofer, Rafi Reavis and Jonas Villanueva did not play due to injuries.

    congrats kay kerby at bumabalik n laro kaso minsan pag dalawa n bumabantay s kanya ang nangyayari nawawala bola.para kay spears gudlack nlang.lucky lang kc n injured import ng smart gilas pero kung hindi ewan me lang.

    Huwag naman isama sa trade si Reavis, pag gumaling iyan sa injury malaki ang tulong sa team. Remember he’s one of the members of sampayan brigade (Reavis, Pingris, Raymundo, Rico and KG).Kahit si Asi, Menk and Thoss hindi umubra kay Reavis sa guwardyahan. Be patient, babalik din iyan.
