Star Hotshots lost to Rain or Shine, 1st loss in Governors Cup

Star Hotshots lost their 1st game in the 2017 PBA Governors Cup to James Yap and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 92-88.

Import Malcolm Hill led Star with 26 points while Paul Lee led the locals with 17 points. Ian Sangalang contributed 11 points. Allein Maliksi scored 10 points.

Jio Jalalon scored 8 points in his return to Star after playing for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Asia Cup. Gabe Norwood and Raymond Almazan returned also for Rain or Shine coming from Beirut, Lebanon.

Raymond Alamazan was named Best Player with 13 points and 14 rebounds but was stretchered out of Araneta after the game after being unable to stand and walk after the game. According to Rain or Shine Coaching Staff, Almazan played even with a flu and felt dehydrated.

Star Hotshots now with a 4-1 record.
