What’s wrong with the Llamados?

With the entry of Coach Tim Cone and the team now complete and injure free (except for Jonas Villanueva), we expect that B-Meg to be on top of the standings at the start of the All-Filipino conference but after 4 games, the Llamados just have 1 win against 3 losses.

2011 Philippine Cup Recap
Game 1: Loss vs Petron, 73-69
Game 2: Win vs Alaska, 81-75
Game 3: Loss vs Meralco, 84-78
Game 4: Loss vs Talk N Text, 96-94

10 more games to go. As we can see, all games are close games and B-Meg has problems closing out games. They need someone to step up big time in close games.

Seriously I dont see nothing wrong, 3 of the first 4 games are tough teams to beat namely Alaska, Petron and TNT. The one that shocked me was Meralco with all the injuries in their team. I think Kerby going back hurts the team most. With all due to respect to him, he’s a ball hog. Imo, he needs to get traded. BMEG still has Joe Devance so Kerby is replaceable.

Lets not be in a hurry. Its too early to tell what will happen.

There was a time in history when Alaska was 0-5 when they started, but eventually won the championship. Time Cone was the coach.

So let’s not judge him this early.

Si Pari Llagas dapat ang kinuha. Ano na ba ngangyari sa kanya? Marami na small guys ang team what we need is size with speed and big, big D!

bmeg pls get “wins” on your scheduled games…
i know that you have not adjusted to the way tim cone my have coached you but this is not about losing your identities as a defensive and offensive team. remember that you may have changed some players but bmeg’s heart is still the same…
when a team wins a championship like you have done in the previous years, it’s always because you guys were a “team” which means sharing the ball, winning the boards and making possibilities.
bmeg has the heart of a fighter…. dont lose it.
next game and on the next games, bmeg… LETS WIN THIS!!!
    GO TEAM!!!

Whats wrong with Bmeg? …very soft on defense …no post plays…. big man shooting way outside .. who do you think will rebound if they miss? .. ah maybe simon or urbiztondo LOL… sakit ni kerby yan laging jump shot sa labas lagi namang paltos.. parang walang lakas ng loob na mag drive or gumawa ng post plays could have been advantage pero mahina TALAGA ang loob laki pa naman, sayang… I was a PUREFOODS fan now going Bmeg but sakit sa mata ang linalaro nila, di na gaya ng dati ang players…walang accuracy sa shooting walang post plays.. just saw 2 or 3 post plays against Tnt and it nicked di ko lang alam kung bakit di nila pinagpatuloy, I wont blame on the coach or the system, the system will nick with agressive players on both end of the court… POOR SHOT SELECTION!!!! kung si kerby rin lang mag ju jump shot sa labas … bigay nalang nya kay Simon mas may pagasa pang pumasok LOL ….and lastly we need players with a BIG HEART like Urbiztondo he may not be the franchise player but he is always there when the team need him the most…. like Arwin Santos.. thats the real definition of a Big Hearted player.. a heart of a champion.. pitty we dont have him.. well the least we can hope is that our players can Imitate some of the things this guy pours every game he plays … Swerte Bmeg work hard of we won´t reach the semis LOL :))

Make me believe. Hindi pa naman huli ang lahat. 10 more games to make up. Give more heart into the game. Heart, heart and more heart so you’ll have more determination to finish games. Nawala na talaga yan after Ryan Gregorio left. Cone is a good coach and he’s not the one playing in the court to determine the outcome of the game.

  8. okie lang yan b-meg..may pusong panalo kau..ibalik nyo lang ang dati nyong stlye
nung c coach ryan pa ang nag handle sa inyo…Go…..Go……Go……4 da win…..

I think they really have to work very very hard on end games.. halos lahat ng talo ay dikit ang laban too many errors lalo na against Barako Bull .. tsaka nagtataka lang ako kapag may hot hands sa kalaban di ko alam kung bakit di nila pinababantayan ng mas malaki, example si Rico ok naman magdepensa at hindi lampa mabilis gumalaw… ewan ko po sa inyo pero sa 3 panalo ng Bmeg para sa akin 2 lang ang talagang pinanalo nila…against Powerade for me is ´just pure luck, talagang minalas lang ang Powerade that time, just my observation I´m not defending the latter team, you can watch the replay if you want but its the truth…and lastly, Kerby need to work harder as a player improve his moves shooting etc. I´m not against this guy of any sort…but I think he´s the missing link to win games… too many playing minutes for nothing… kung minsan mas malakas pa sa rebound at depensa ang bmeg kung wala sya, I think Tim Cone saw that on their last game kaya kokonti ang playing minutes nya di gaya ng dati, but honestly… mas kampante ako pag wala sya sa floor coz I know the other big guys are tougher, except kay Joe of course but anyways, bmeg is playing better than last year atleast kita ang quality ng coach.. but still there are a lot to improve to be a dominant squad hope that they will reach it this year.. but in the mean time… PLS. PLS. WIN US GAMES!!! GO GO BMEG!

triangle offense is not an easy thing to adjust with.you need motion and you need guys who are more or less mobile.since when did kerby raymundo been mobile?he’s a post option who needs the ball to be effective plus he had regressed considerably in agility so don’t expect him to contribute a lot in the team’s current system.cone is a good coach and the system has been proven not only with alaska but also with a team known as the bulls of chicago.there’s nothing really wrong with the team and the system,a little twiking here and there, probably a trade and they will be back with their winning ways.

  12. pinoy42 says:

Trade kerby to sony toss of alaska hehehe, sakit kasi ni kerby ang maglaro sa labas instead of doing power moves inside the shaded areas, napakarami nating shooter instead kerby doing the perimeter shoots. Sana doon magfocus ang team natin sa defense, more tighter and agressive defense and for sure offense will follow.

  13. Fudge says:

Iceman, I agree with you on some things but not all… you see a player doesn´t need the ball to be effective… basketball is not only shooting… the Chicago Bulls were relentless with the triangle…agree but they were better in defense… there was a guy who didn´t bother having the the ball and shoot it.. he just get rebounds for his team and defends every inch on the other guy (RODMAN) he played a major role on the Chicago Bulls, and the triangle is just on the offensive side, you have to play better defense to have better balance of the game.. on the other side the Lakers of Phil Jackson on their last back2back championships didnt play their bigs outside.. they almost ..always have them on the post, for offensive rebounds of course and some assists I dont expect them to play like the NBA teams of course that´s too much to ask but they can try.. as Pinoy42 said …more tighter and agressive defense and for sure offense will follow….hat words also was said by Ryan Gregorio when they won their last game… this is just my opinion my friends.. don´t wanna be a know all guy LOL, but since opinion is free I just can´t help it 🙂

  14. phillip D. says:

pinoy42, that is not a good idea, don’t trade kerby raymundo, malakas nah ang B-MEG, kailangan lang nila nang kunting panahon para ma-master nah nila ang triangle offence ni coach tim cone, complete line-up nah ang b-meg, no more trade for b-meg…… tama ang sinabi ni james yap, malakas nah team ang b-meg, complete line-up. hindi lang sila maka-bwelo. good luck to b-meg, and more power……
