Roger Yap and James Yap combined for 30 points as Purefoods TJ Giants beats Smart Gilas, 99-81 in the last exhibition match for the Smart Gilas Philippine Developmental Team before they head to the middle east for some tune-up games. Purefoods led from start to finish using a balanced attack with Adducul and Canaleta both having 11 points while seldom used Jonathan Fernandez contributing 9 points and leading Rookie of the year candidate Rico Maierhofer with 8 points.

Team Captain Chris Tiu led Smart Gilas with 18 points, while No. 1 pick Japeth Aguilar who just recovered from dengue last December contributing 12 points. It was the second meeting between the No. 1 and No. 2 pick of last years draft, both games won by Maierhofer. In their first meeting, Aguilar was still wearing a Burger King uniform before he was traded to Talk N Text and transferred to Smart Gilas. This was also a match between the Gregorio brothers Ryan (Purefoods Head Coach) and Allan (Smart Gilas Assistant Coach).
