Do-or-die game today for Coca Cola and Rain or Shine as they battle for the last quarterfinals berth in the current PBA Fiesta Conference. The winner will face Derby Ace Llamados in a Best-of-Five Quarterfinals series which starts on Friday, July 9.

With San Miguel (11-5) losing its 3rd straight game, the Derby Ace Llamados (10-5) has another chance to get 2nd place while the Alaska Aces are also catching up with a 10-6 record. The Beermen lost another game without Import Gabe Freeman and also spoiled the coaching debut of Ato Agustin. Although it is not yet confirmed if Ato Agustin will be the head coach of San Miguel in their next games, coach Siot Tanquincen was still at the sidelines for this game.

Derby Ace wins104-91

Derby Ace Llamados gets back at Coca Cola Tigers with their offense game, scoring more than 100 points for the 1st time this conference 104-91. Coca Cola beat Derby Ace in their first matchup 79-76, but this time around it was the scoring of Peter June Simon (15 pts) and Roger Yap (16 pts) who made a big difference in the game.

Marc Pingris was named best player of the game contributing 12 pts and 11 rebs but it was Llamados Import Clif Brown who led Derby Ace in points and rebounds with 18 pts and 12 rebounds (7 offensive). James Yap and Nino “KG” Canaleta also contributed double digit points for Derby Ace with 14 and 12 pts respectively. Derby Ace out rebounded Coca Cola, 51-38.

Coke Import Rashad Bell (28pts) and Gary David (26pts) led the Tigers in scoring.

B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados (formerly called Purefoods TJ Giants) suffers its first defeat in the 2010 PBA Fiesta conference at the hands of the tough Coca Cola Tigers 79-76. Import Lorrenzo Wade led Derby Ace again with 26pts, 12rebs, 2asts, 2blks but committed 7 turnovers and 23 as a team.

Although Derby Ace limited the Tigers to less than 80 points, they were also defended well with only James Yap scoring in double figures among the locals with 11pts and was 1 out of 5 from the free throw line. Team Captain Kerby Raymundo missed his third straight game due to a knee injury and will be out for a couple of weeks.

James Penny and Gary David led Coca Cola with 20 and 18 points respectively with Import Penny also contributing 18 rebounds and 6 blocks.

Purefoods TJ Giants built a 15 point lead in the third quarter but the winless Coca Cola Tigers comes back in the final quarter to beat Purefoods 93-79. Coke shot well in the second half with 8 of 14 from the three point range and 21 out of 24 from the Free throw line.

Norman Gonzales top scored for Coke with 17 points, while Purefoods were led by James Yap with 15 points and Kerby Raymundo with 13 points. Special mention to Nino Canaleta who had a good game contributing 13. points
