The Derby Ace Llamados takes Game 1 f their best-of-three quarterfinals matchup between the Meralco Bolts, 106-97 in double overtime. B-Meg led for 3 quarters, their biggest lead was 16 points before Meralco came back in the third quarter.

Peter June Simon led the Llamados with 35 points on 14 out of 22 from the field including clutch baskets in the second overtime where Derby Ace outscored Meralco, 15 -6. James Yap contributed 27 points but fouled out in the 1st overtime…

PJ Simon suspended for 1 game, fined 20K

PBA Commissioner Chito Salud gave Peter June Simon a 1 game suspension and was fined P20,000 for throwing the ball at Ogie Menor in their game against the Meralco Bolts yesterday.

PJ Simon will miss their next game on December 10, it is time again for Nino “KG” Canaleta to step up his game in Derby Ace Llamados last game in the eliminations of the Philippine Cup vs Barako Bull tomorrow, 5pm at the Big Dome.

Nino “KG” Canaleta stepped up his game in the absence of top scorer Peter June Simon, who was thrown out in the 1st quarter (PJ Simon threw a ball at Ogie Menor and it was an automatic Flagrant Foul 2 which resulted in being out of the ball game). KG Canaleta was named Best Player of the Game with 22 points and 7 rebounds also was 6 out of 7 from three point range…

Ginebra wins 89-86

Barangay Ginebra stopped the winning streak of the Derby Ace Llamados to 5 as Ginebra finally wins a very close game, 89-86. James Yap had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but the shot bounced off the rim.

It was a tight game for these two popular teams as they exchanged baskets in the 4th quarter with Peter June Simon leading Derby Ace with 26 points and 5 rebounds including a triple to make it 87-86 cutting the Ginebra lead to 1. But Mark Caguioa made 2 free throws to make it a three point game 89-86 and a miss by James Yap sealed the win for the Kings…

Nino “KG” Canaleta made a big 3-point shot to give the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados the lead 81-79 with a few minutes remaining in the 4th quarter while Jonas Villanueva made 2 free throws and James Yap was 1 for 2 from the line to seal the win for B-Meg, 84-79 as it win its 5th straight game….

After being named Player of the Week last week, Peter June Simon again led Derby Ace Llamados to a win vs Rain or Shine, 94-86 as B-Meg wins their 4th straight game. PJ Simon scored 25 points (11 out of 15 from the field), while also contributing 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

Rico Maierhofer had a double-double with 12 points and the same number of rebounds. Jonas Villanueva, James Yap and Roger Yap each scored double figures with 17, 15 and 12 points respectively as Derby Ace spread out the floor with 5 players scoring double figures. B-Meg committed 9 turnovers only, while their defense forced 15 turnovers by Rain or Shine….

Peter June Simon scored a career high 42 points to lead the Derby Ace Llamados to its second straight win in the current PBA Philippine Cup versus Air 21 Express, 102-97. PJ Simon who was drafted 43rd overall in the 2001 draft but only played in the PBA 3 years later for Purefoods was 2 out of 4 from three point range and was perfect from 2 point range, making 11, and he also made 14 out of 18 free throws…
