Jorge Gallent will be taking over the head coaching job for B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados. There were a lot of candidates from Purefoods/San Miguel/Ginebra Teams but SMC decided Gallent is a right fit for the Llamados. Gallent joined Purefoods mid 2008-2009 season as an assistant coach to new Meralco Coach Ryan Gregorio.
As a player in the PBL, Gallent won seven (7) championships with Stag Pale Pilsen/Tanduay Rhum in the PBL under head coach Alfrancis Chua. And as a coach, he won six (6) titles with the Harbour Centre squad. And he hopes to bring this championship experience as player and coach to the Purefoods franchise and also defend the All-Filipino Cup in the 36th Season.
Only Koy Banal and Dayong Mendoza are still under contract as assistant coaches for Derby Ace. Congratulations Coach Jorge Gallent and Good luck!
