Talk N Text defeats Derby Ace, 107-102

With import Courtney Beasley thrown out of the game just 30 seconds in the 1st quarter, the Llamados had a tough battle with Talk N Text but came short as TNT won 107-102. With 4 wins and 5 losses, the fate of Derby Ace is now in the hands of Air 21 Express, who must win their last 2 games in order to gain entry in the next round and automatically eliminate B-Meg.

Kerby Raymundo led Derby Ace with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 3assists and 2 steals while Marc Pingris had another double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Llamados shot blanks from 3-point range making only 1 out of 21 attempts but was 66.7% (38/57) from the 2-point range.

A loss by the Llamados may eliminate them if either Rain or Shine or Air 21 win their last 2 games. This will be the last game by Derby Ace in the elimination round of the PBA Commissioners Cup, they currently have 4 wins and 4 losses.

Derby Ace defeats San Miguel in overtime, 93-88

Another tough win in overtime for the Llamados as they survived San Miguel, 93-88 with Peter June Simon and Marc Pingris providing the finishing blows. PJ Simon scored 26 points and 7 rebounds including the first 5 points in overtime while Marc Pingris had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds including crucial rebounds at the end game as B-Meg won their 2nd straight overtime game.

New Import Courtney Beasley played well in his debut with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals but was out most of the game due to foul trouble. Special mention goes to Jonas Villanueva who scored 14 points and Kerby Raymundo who had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and made a record as the 63rd player to have 5,000 points in PBA history.

James Yap, Don Allado, Rafi Reavis and Rico Maierhofer did not play this game due to injuries.

Derby Ace defeats Smart Gilas in overtime, 98-90

Shamari Spears led Derby Ace in scoring with 26 points in what could be his last game as B-Meg handed Smart Gilas Pilipinas its first loss in the PBA Commissioners Cup, 98-90. Peter June Simon and Marc Pingris both had great games with PJ contributing 20 points and 9 rebounds and Pingris grabbing 19 rebounds and scoring 18 points.

Kerby Raymundo had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds together with 2 assists and 2 steals while Nino “KG” Canaleta who made a crucial 3 pointer in the last 2 minutes of the game scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Mac Baracael led Smart Gilas with 19 points but missed 6-10 Marcus Douthit in the 4th period after sustaining a sprained ankle in the 3rd quarter, which resulted in the 70-49 edge in rebounding by the Llamados.

James Yap, Don Allado, Rico Maierhofer, Rafi Reavis and Jonas Villanueva did not play due to injuries.

Meralco defeats Derby Ace, 89-86

Even without MVP James Yap, who sat out of this game due to a calf injury, B-Meg almost defeated the Meralco Bolts again but came up short in the end game as they suffered their second straight setback and now at the bottom half of the standings with 2 wins and 4 losses.

Derby Ace had a chance to get the lead with 26 seconds left and Meralco leading by 1, 87-86, but Kerby Raymundo in just his second game back from an injury missed a shot and Mac Cardona sealed the win for the Bolts with 2 free throws.

Peter June Simon led the Llamados with 17 points and 3 rebounds while Marc Pingris contributed a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Nino “KG” Canaleta had a big 4th quarter with 10 points (3 three point shots) but was neutralized by Meralco Import Champ Oguchi who made 4 three pointers in the 4th quarter which includes the shot that gave the Bolts the lead, 87-86.

It was the first time that Meralco won against Derby Ace since getting the Sta. Lucia franchise and the 1st win by Meralco head coach Ryan Gregorio against his former team.

Alaska defeats Derby Ace, 97-91

The Alaska Aces spoiled the return of Kerby Raymundo as they defeated B-Meg Derby Ace, 97-91. James Yap led the Llamados with 22 points but suffered leg cramps in the 4th quarter and missed the critical stage of the game as the Aces pulled away.

Kerby Raymundo who missed the last 33 games of B-Meg contributed 4 points and 3 rebounds. Marc Pingris had a good game with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Derby Ace clearly has to replace import Shamari Spears who was effective only on a few instances and could not stop Alaska import LD Williams who scored 30 points.

Jonas Villanueva missed the game due to an injury along with Rafi Reavis and Don Allado.

Derby Ace retains Spears, Raymundo back in action

B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados will try to win their 3rd straight game today at 4pm versus Alaska at the Big Dome. Derby Ace import Shamari Spears has kept his job for now while Kerby Raymundo will be back in action today after a long rehab of his injury and will wear jersey #35.
