Purefoods TJ Giants is back in the Finals after beating San Miguel Beermen 87-78 and closed out their best of 7 semifinals series 4-2. Roger Yap led Purefoods with 20 points, 11 rebs and 4 assists including an acrobatic reverse layup that sealed the win for Purefoods in the 4th quarter. Special mention to Marc Pingris who had 15 pts and 13 rebs as he dominated the boards for Purefoods.

Purefoods led by as much as 18 points in the 1st half but San Miguel came back in the 4th quarter and trimmed down the lead to 6 with 3 minutes remaining. But Roger Yap had a buzzer beater, a difficult reverse layup and a save from the outside all in consecutive plays and was named best player of the game.

Purefoods TJ Giants has two chances to be back in the All-Filipino finals, but hopes to end the series tonight at 6pm at the Cuneta Astrodome. Purefoods does not want to give San Miguel another chance in this series and if the Giants win, they will face Alaska Aces in the Best of 7 finals starting Wednesday.
