Talk N Text finally defeats Purefoods TJ Giants 101-98 after 2 years of losing to Giants. It was a very close game held at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro, with Talk N Text leading by 3 a few seconds left, Purefoods had a chance to tie the game but a miss by Nino Canaleta and an error by Kerby Raymundo sealed thewin for Talk N Text. James Yap led Purefoods with 28 points, his highest scoring ball game this season.

Rookie Rico Maierhofer led Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants in a win vs Talk N Text contributing 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. It was the best game of Purefoods No. 2 Pick in 5 games so far, but clearly Maierhofer has a lot of potential in both ends of the floor.

Special mention also to Nino Canaleta who also had a solid game with 16 points including a crucial three pointer in the final minutes of the game with Talk N Text closing in on the lead of Purefoods.Marc Pingris who came back to Purefoods from San Miguel also had his best game since joining Purefoods again with 12 points including a crucial offensive rebound and putback of a miss by James Yap in the dying seconds of the game.

Peter June Simon, Rafi Reavis and Don Allado sat out of this game due to different injuries. Despite the absence of both big men Reavis and Allado, Purefoods dominated the boards 56-31 with 21 on the offensive. Harvey Carey and Mac Cardona led Talk N Text with 20 and 19 points respectively.

Purefoods continues its mastery over Talk N Text, winning the last 5 games over the Tropang Texters dating back from last season. It was a good win for Purefoods specially coming from a big loss to Coca Cola last game where they led for most of the game but losing in the final minutes.
